Storyline

B’s life was a stark contrast to her childhood. While she became a track team ace at Mokuzai High School and exuded a prince-like demeanor, her classmates were drawn to her charismatic presence. In reality, B was a reserved and old-fashioned individual who spent her days collecting and raising insects. She found solace in the Occult Club, where she met others with unusual interests—A, the uncontrollable troublemaker; C, her daydreaming neighbor; and N, the enigmatic leader. However, both A and N vanished without a trace by the end of their senior year.

As seasons passed, B grew accustomed to people disappearing from her life, adapting to the dynamic world around her. Her past and identity were gradually washed away, leading her to attempt a new beginning and overcome the walls she had built around herself.

Presently, B is a nineteen-year-old entomology student at Mokuzai University. She and C have developed a routine life together, but everything changes when A and N unexpectedly reappear in their lives.

Join B as she reconnects with old friends, forms new ones, and overcomes the traumas of her past in this poignant narrative.

Prologue Features

The prologue offers a glimpse into the high school life of the Occult Club and provides Easter eggs that reveal themselves once the full story is played. This introductory chapter showcases the new approach to narrative and character development, as well as the streamlined UI with features like proper saving, loading, settings, auto mode, and skipping options. The prologue also introduces a unique visual style with line-boiled sprites, partial animation, and detailed backgrounds that vary depending on the time of day.

Full Game Features

The full game is a rich character-driven narrative spanning approximately 200,000 words with one main route and two sub-routes, culminating in four endings. Players manage B’s stats by participating in day-to-day activities such as forging relationships, shopping, and cooking. Mini-games are intricately woven into the story, affecting the route taken based on free time events between story scenes.

The game’s art emphasizes atmosphere with line-boiled sprites for each character, CGs ranging from partial animation to fully animated sequences, and detailed backgrounds that reflect different times of the day. This immersive experience sets the stage for a compelling journey through loss and connection.

The full release of Tomorrow Will Be Dying is coming soon, but it will be significantly different from the 2020 Legacy Demo. Several plotlines have been dropped, and the game features new mechanics and art styles. The 2023 Dev Log provides more information about these changes. The 2020 Legacy Demo remains available for legacy’s sake but is not a preview of the final game.
