Sacrament Pario is a poignant visual novel that delves into the intricate dynamics between a struggling mercenary and the enigmatic living gods they have always been taught to avoid. The game takes a dramatic turn when the mercenary’s betrayal leads to unforeseen consequences, drawing the attention of Violo, a mercurial living god. Each day is now a battle for survival, as Vivere, Violo’s eternal companion, is not pleased with sharing his lover’s attention. The threat of death looms overhead, but so does the possibility of finding humanity beneath the monstrous facade.

Storyline and Gameplay

The game is set against the backdrop of a world where living gods and mortals coexist in a complex web of power and intrigue. The mercenary, with customizable name and pronouns, navigates this treacherous landscape, ultimately leading to a series of choices that will determine their fate. Will they survive, escape, or succumb to the relentless pressure? The journey is filled with human taxidermy, vivisection, and other dark themes, which may trigger sensitive subjects such as gore, body horror, and dubious consent. The narrative is structured to provide multiple endings, including good, bad, and neutral options, ensuring that the player’s choices have significant consequences.

Content and Trigger Warnings

Sacrament Pario contains a variety of dark themes that may be distressing for some players. These include gore, human taxidermy and vivisection, flesh monsters, body horror, and other forms of physical and emotional distress. Additionally, the game touches on complex issues like Stockholm syndrome, dubious consent, unhealthy power dynamics, human trafficking, kidnapping, human experimentation, forced imprisonment, chained restraints, and obsessive behavior. It also addresses themes such as transphobia, ableism, seizures, panic attacks, PTSD, severe nightmares, chronic health issues, mental/emotional manipulation, and the possibility of torture or starvation. Some scenes may involve verbal/physical harm, being rendered unconscious, or even transformation into a monster. The game also includes scenes that discuss child abuse and falling in love with captors.

Love Interests and Features

The game features customizable first name, last name, and gender for the main character, providing a personalized experience. The narrative includes over ~170k words of content with partial voice acting for Violo and Vivere. The player can engage with a pair of yandere love interests in a polyamorous relationship or develop a weird friendship. The game includes multiple endings: 15 “dead” ends where the player’s affection can drop too low, resulting in abrupt conclusions; 2 bad ends where fates are worse than death; and 2 neutral ends where escape is uncertain. There are also 4 good ends where the player must make the best out of a bad situation.

Demo Features

The demo of Sacrament Pario offers ~40k words of content, reaching the first “dead” end and the end of the first week. It includes partial voice acting and features five character graphics (CGs). The demo was created for Yandere Game Jam 2023 and showcases the game’s dark and intense atmosphere.
