The title, Marupok, translates to “fragile” or “weak” in Filipino, but it takes on a deeper meaning in the context of romantic relationships, referring to someone who is easily swayed by love and prone to heartbreak.

The Story and Features

Players take on the role of Maricel, a kind-hearted woman who befriends Joaquin, a man who misinterprets her kindness as romantic interest. When she bluntly tells him she was only being friendly, Joaquin’s obsession turns into rage, leading him to break into her home intent on harming her. Trapped in her own home, Maricel must use her wit and cunning to outsmart, evade, and ultimately escape Joaquin.

The Game’s Atmosphere and Gameplay

Marupok is designed as a walking simulator with a creepy atmosphere, immersing players in a world of fear and vulnerability. The game’s setting is deeply rooted in Filipino culture, featuring authentic dialogue that adds to the authenticity of the experience.
