This game holds a special place in my heart, dedicated to my beloved cat, who vanished in the late spring and has yet to return. I remain hopeful and steadfast, just as the game embodies my unwavering dedication. The full game offers a narrative experience blended with dating elements, akin to an art project.

These include bright colors, disturbing images featuring eye contact, syringes, mentally broken characters, and depictions of smoking and alcohol use. Furthermore, the game touches on topics such as attempted drugging, swearing, blood and violence, cults/sects related to local world religions, hallucinations, and horror elements. Additionally, it addresses themes like slavery (both human and android trafficking), brainwashing (not directly related to the main character or love interest), panic attacks, mental health issues, sexual content, bullying, brief yandere topics, stalking, and obsession.

Storyline

A few years ago, you chose to create an android with the help of underground scientists. This android, Zu, has since become an indispensable companion, always by your side. The constant proximity has led to unintended consequences.

Main Character and Gameplay

The main character is genderless and goes by they/them. Players can choose any name they prefer, as there are several Easter eggs with name suggestions within the game. Stained Red boasts a substantial narrative with approximately 60,000 words and includes a considerable number of cutscenes.

Development and Credits

This is my first project, and while it may have its quirks, I thoroughly enjoyed creating it. It was specifically developed for the “Stained Red; A Yandere Game Jam” as a demo.

The game’s development involved collaborations with various talented individuals. Finier handled the art, writing, and code, with additional coding assistance from a friend. The music was composed by several artists, including Shimtone, Yuli, Anonyment, Marron Fields Production, K’z Art Storage, and more. I extend heartfelt thanks to all those who supported me during this journey and continue to do so.
