Game Overview

Cursed Place is a Visual Novel presented in two segments. The first installment was crafted during the Amare Jam in April 2022, while the second part was completed in May of the same year.

The Journey Begins

You arrive at a small, unnamed town by train, carrying nothing but a suitcase and a hasty decision. With no clear plan, you’ve cut ties with your past and are now in a precarious situation.

The Note of Fate

As you wait at the station, a note catches your eye. It reads: “Opaline Manor seeks aides: maid, servants, pages. Promised good pay, lodging, and weekly leave.” Despite rumors surrounding the manor, you take the note and head towards the moor, where your journey takes a dark and intriguing turn.

The Characters

Meet the enigmatic figures that inhabit Opaline Manor:

– The Devil (Modesta/Modesto Malyar): A charismatic and flamboyant individual who once ruled the world with an iron fist. Now, she/he lives a luxurious life, indulging in expensive champagne and forgetting the past.

– The Specter: A mysterious stranger with piercing eyes and an aura of coldness. The townspeople whisper that those who encounter this specter rarely return to tell the tale.

– The Maid: A shy and resourceful young woman from a nearby village. She is both diligent and daydream-prone, making her a fascinating character.

– The Lady: A minor noble and the true mistress of Opaline Manor. She is the widow of Lady Malyar and oversees the manor in her absence. In her spare time, she can often be found tending to the garden or praying.
